Affiliate Terms of Service
Welcome to the American Occultist Affiliate Program. By enrolling, you become part of our coven of creators—witches, pagans, and seekers who share their craft and earn rewards in return. Participation in this program signifies your agreement to the terms below.
1. Program Overview
American Occultist’s affiliate program allows approved partners (“Affiliates”) to earn commissions on qualifying sales generated through unique referral links. Affiliates may promote American Occultist products across personal websites, blogs, or social platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
All affiliates must comply with these Terms and with all applicable laws, regulations, and platform guidelines.
2. Commissions & Tiers
Base Commission: 5% on all referred sales
Tier 2 – 7%: Reach $250 in monthly referred revenue
Tier 3 – 9%: Reach $750 in monthly referred revenue
Tier 4 – 12%: Reach $1,500 in monthly referred revenueCommissions are calculated on net order value after discounts, refunds, taxes, and shipping are removed. Tier progress resets at the start of each calendar month.
3. Commission Hold, Payouts & Tax Forms
All commissions are subject to a 45-day hold to ensure orders clear the 30-day return window and any disputes.
Payout Schedule
Paid monthly within the first 5–10 business days
Minimum payout threshold: $25 USD
Payment methods: PayPal (default), ACH/direct deposit for U.S. affiliates (by arrangement), or store credit upon request
Payments are issued in USD; affiliates are responsible for all applicable fees
Tax Documentation
U.S. affiliates must submit IRS Form W-9
Non-U.S. affiliates may be required to submit Form W-8BEN
Affiliates earning $600+ in a calendar year will receive IRS Form 1099-NEC
Affiliates are solely responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes
Failure to provide accurate or complete tax information may delay or forfeit payments.
4. Personal Discount for Affiliates
Affiliates may receive a personal discount tied to their Shopify customer account.
This discount:
Applies only to personal purchases
May not be shared or transferred
Does not earn affiliate commissions
Abuse of personal discounts may result in suspension or removal from the program.
5. Tracking & Attribution
Sales are tracked via unique affiliate referral links
Cookie duration: 30 days
Only completed, paid, and non-refunded orders qualify
Orders placed without a referral link or after cookie expiration cannot be credited
6. Prohibited Practices
Affiliates may not:
Use their own referral link or code
Create or distribute unauthorized coupon codes
Engage in click fraud, fake orders, or traffic manipulation
Promote misleading, hateful, or adult content
Bid on “American Occultist” trademarks or misspellings
Violations may result in immediate termination and forfeiture of unpaid commissions.
7. Disclosure & Compliance
Affiliates must comply with all Federal Trade Commission (FTC) disclosure requirements.
Example disclosure:
“As an American Occultist affiliate, I may earn a commission from qualifying purchases.”Failure to disclose may result in removal from the program.
8. Account Management
All affiliates are manually reviewed
American Occultist may deactivate inactive or non-compliant accounts
Affiliates are responsible for maintaining current payment and tax information
9. Affiliate Program Levels & Featured Creator Partnership
American Occultist operates multiple participation levels within its affiliate program.
All participants enter as Standard Affiliates by default.
9.1 Standard Affiliate Program
Standard Affiliates receive:
Access to referral links
Eligibility for tiered commissions
Standard Affiliates:
Are not guaranteed on-site placement or promotion
May promote other brands without restriction, provided all other Terms are followed
9.2 Featured Creators (Limited to Ten Total)
At American Occultist’s discretion, select affiliates may be invited to participate as Featured Creators.
Featured Creator placement:
Is limited to a curated group of up to ten (10) creators total
Reflects deeper alignment and ongoing collaboration
May be granted, rotated, or revoked at any time
Featured Creator Benefits
While actively designated, Featured Creators may receive:
A dedicated profile on the Featured Creators page
Ability to embed up to three (3) creator-selected videos or content embeds
Ability to feature up to six (6) curated American Occultist products
Eligibility to participate in Creator-Curated Bundles
Eligibility for performance-based homepage visibility
All benefits apply only while the creator remains within the active group of ten (10) Featured Creators.
Removal Timing
Upon voluntary withdrawal, removal, or termination, Featured Creator designation and benefits are revoked immediately.
Affiliates acknowledge that due to administrative and technical processes, removal from Featured Creator pages, homepage sections, promotional placements, or embedded content may take up to seven (7) calendar days to fully complete.Any temporary visibility during this period does not constitute continued Featured Creator status, entitlement to benefits, or an ongoing partnership.
9.3 Good-Faith Alignment Expectations (Featured Creators Only)
Because Featured Creator placement represents a public partnership, Featured Creators are expected to operate in good faith and maintain alignment with American Occultist.
This includes:
Prioritizing American Occultist products in monetized occult or ritual content
Avoiding simultaneous promotion of direct competitor storefronts within the same monetized content
Maintaining general alignment with brand tone, values, and offerings
This section does not require exclusivity.
9.4 Creator-Curated Bundles
Select Featured Creators may be invited to propose custom product kits or bundles (“Creator Bundles”).
All Creator Bundles:
Are created, priced, published, and managed exclusively by American Occultist
Are subject to approval at American Occultist’s sole discretion
While a creator remains an active Featured Creator, approved bundles earn an additional flat three percent (3%) commission.
If Featured Creator status ends:
Creator bundles may be removed from the site
The additional 3% commission immediately ceases
Standard affiliate commissions remain unaffected
9.5 Homepage Featured Creators
Up to three (3) Featured Creators may be highlighted monthly based on total referred revenue from the previous calendar month.
Homepage placement is promotional, temporary, and subject to change.
10. Voluntary Withdrawal, Termination & Account Closure
10.1 Voluntary Withdrawal
Affiliates may leave the program at any time by submitting a written request.
Upon withdrawal:
Referral links and codes are deactivated
No new commissions accrue
Pending commissions remain subject to holds, thresholds, and compliance
10.2 Termination by American Occultist
American Occultist may suspend or terminate an affiliate at any time for violations, misconduct, inactivity, or brand-damaging behavior.
Upon termination:
Referral tracking stops immediately
Unpaid commissions may be forfeited if termination is due to violations
10.3 Payment Information Responsibility
Affiliates are solely responsible for maintaining valid payout details.
If payment information is missing, deleted, or invalid:
Payouts are paused
American Occultist is not responsible for delays or failed payments
10.4 Unclaimed Commissions & Abandoned Accounts
If an affiliate exits the program, becomes inactive, or removes payout information while maintaining an unpaid balance:
Unclaimed commissions must be claimed within 90 days of the last active or termination date
After 90 days, unpaid commissions are forfeited
Forfeited funds revert to American Occultist
10.5 Minimum Payout Threshold
Final payouts remain subject to the $25 minimum payout threshold.
Balances below the threshold may not be paid.
10.6 Rights After Exit
Upon exit or termination:
Affiliates may no longer represent themselves as affiliated with American Occultist
All branding, promotional use, and claims of partnership must cease immediately
Featured Creator placement is revoked immediately, though full removal from site sections and promotional materials may take up to seven (7) calendar days
No temporary presence during this period grants additional rights, commissions, or recognition.
10.7 Creator Content & Post-Termination Use
Creator Content includes any content created, submitted, or shared by an Affiliate or Featured Creator in connection with the Affiliate Program.
Affiliates grant American Occultist a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, adapt, archive, and publish Creator Content for promotional, marketing, educational, or archival purposes.
This license survives withdrawal or termination. No additional compensation or royalties are owed beyond earned commissions.
10.8 Non-Disparagement, Defamation & Good-Faith Resolution
Affiliates agree that during participation and after withdrawal or termination, they will not knowingly make or distribute false or misleading statements about American Occultist that could reasonably cause reputational or financial harm.
This does not prohibit truthful statements, good-faith opinions, lawful reviews, FTC-required disclosures, or reports to authorities.
Affiliates may not:
Make knowingly false or reckless accusations
Misrepresent reasons for termination or exit
Encourage harassment or coordinated attacks
American Occultist may pursue lawful remedies for demonstrably false or malicious conduct.
Good-Faith Resolution: Affiliates are encouraged to raise concerns privately before public escalation. Violations may affect eligibility for future partnerships or reinstatement.
11. Modification of Program
American Occultist reserves the right to modify or terminate the affiliate program or these Terms at any time. Cleared commissions will be paid according to the final payout schedule.
12. Limitation of Liability
American Occultist LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the affiliate program.
13. Agreement
By registering as an affiliate, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. You affirm that you are at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to participate.
