Traditional associations & use

When practitioners may choose it

Choose it for prayer, devotional practice, remembrance, meditation, offerings, or a traditional resinous altar atmosphere.

Traditional role in practice

Frankincense and myrrh bring together two longstanding ceremonial resin traditions associated with prayer, devotion, remembrance, purification, and sacred-space preparation.

Suggested application

Place a small amount on lit charcoal in a charcoal-safe burner during prayer, offerings, remembrance, meditation, or altar work.

Commonly paired with

Pairs with prayer, devotion, remembrance, offerings, meditation, purification symbolism, and sacred-space preparation.

Traditional, metaphysical, and symbolic associations vary by source and practice; they are presented as spiritual or cultural reference rather than guaranteed outcomes.

Care & considerations

Care instructions

Keep resin dry and tightly closed between uses. Store away from heat, moisture, children, pets, and ignition sources.

Safety and handling

Burn only a small amount at a time on lit charcoal in a stable charcoal-safe burner with a screen or bed of sand on a heat-resistant surface. Use with ventilation, never leave burning charcoal unattended, keep away from children, pets, drafts, and flammable materials, and allow charcoal and burner to cool completely before handling or disposal.

Forgotten Essence blends Frankincense and Myrrh in a loose resin incense. Choose it for the traditional aromatic pairing rather than a single resin or a preformed stick.

What you receive: One 1 oz package of Frankincense-and-Myrrh resin incense.
Materials: Frankincense resin and Myrrh resin.
Equipment: A suitable charcoal setup; a regular stick holder is not the correct burner.

How to use it

Burn a small amount on lit charcoal in a charcoal-safe burner with a suitable screen or sand bed. Protect the surface, provide ventilation, and supervise continuously. Keep clear of flammable items, children, and pets. Let charcoal and burner cool fully. Store resin dry and closed.
