Choosing an offering vessel
Consider the size of your altar, the material, and whether you intend to hold dry objects or liquids. Do not assume a decorative vessel is food-safe or heat-safe unless its individual listing confirms that use.
Can an offering plate also hold burning incense?
Not necessarily. A decorative or devotional offering plate is not automatically a fireproof incense burner, and stoneware or ceramic is not automatically food-safe. Check each listing for specifically stated heat and food suitability. Choose a separate purpose-designed incense burner for charcoal, resin, or a burning cone.
Dry offerings, liquids and heat are different use cases
Browse a brass ritual drinking bowl, deity-themed ceramic plates and other vessels according to what you intend to hold. Decorative plates may suit dry symbolic items without being food-safe; an incense bowl must specifically support the type of heat involved. A shell or gypsum bowl should not be assumed fireproof or watertight. Our offering bowl selection guide explains what to check before you buy.
