Many contemporary practitioners make doorway witch bells using a bell, personal charms and symbols. Bells can also be used simply for sound or as decoration; neither a special metal nor a complete kit is universally required.
What supplies should you compare?
What can I hang or display by a front door as a symbolic home ward? This collection groups 12 currently stocked products from American Occultist, spanning the physical tools and material formats relevant to the question. Select only what matches your practice, available space and budget.
Before you choose
Compare hand bells with the magnetic door chime and think about where they can be mounted securely. Iron spikes, keys, black salt and stones are separate symbolic options, not necessary additions. Never place sharp objects where anyone may touch or step on them.
Choosing between a chime and a hand bell
The magnetic door chime is a different product from the brass altar bells: it is intended to sound with door movement, while a hand bell is used deliberately. Compare mounting method, sound level, finish and size before buying. Skeleton keys can be decorative additions; sharp iron pieces require secure placement and are not appropriate on busy door handles. See skeleton keys and threshold symbolism for historical context.
