Traditional associations & use

Ritual focusContemporary symbolic themes of clarity, cleansing, organization, and intentional display

When practitioners may choose it

Choose it when a dry, stationary display surface fits crystal arrangement, jewelry placement, journaling, meditation, or symbolic clarity and cleansing themes. It does not charge, cleanse, protect, or alter other objects in a scientifically measurable or guaranteed way.

Traditional role in practice

The pale fibrous surface and circular form can serve as a visual boundary or arrangement point in contemporary crystal and altar practices. Any cleansing or charging meaning is symbolic and practitioner-defined rather than a verified physical effect.

Suggested application

Place the plate flat on a stable dry surface and arrange only lightweight, dry objects on top. Inspect the plate and supported objects for stability, then remove items before moving the plate. Do not use with liquids, food, flame, heat, or heavy objects.

Commonly paired with

Best suited to dry stationary display, crystal or jewelry arrangement, journaling, meditation, and symbolic altar use. Not compatible with water, oils, food, heat, flame, heavy objects, abrasive materials, or guaranteed energetic claims.

Traditional, metaphysical, and symbolic associations vary by source and practice; they are presented as spiritual or cultural reference rather than guaranteed outcomes.

Care & considerations

Care instructions

Keep dry and wipe gently with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak, rinse, steam clean, ultrasonically clean, or use abrasive cleaners. Store flat with padding, avoid hard impacts and heavy objects, and keep away from humidity because gypsum is soft and moisture-sensitive.

Safety and handling

Use only as a dry display surface for lightweight objects. It is not documented as food-safe, liquid-safe, heat-safe, or flame-safe. Gypsum can chip, splinter, or produce dust if broken or abraded. Keep fragments and dust away from eyes, mouth, children, and pets; do not ingest, burn, heat, cut, grind, drill, or sand.

Natural variation

Color, translucency, fibrous sheen, banding, carving symmetry, diameter tolerance, edge finish, polish, pits, scratches, and small chips may vary between representative pieces.

This round satin spar gypsum plate provides a pale mineral base for lightweight stones or jewelry. Choose it for a circular arrangement with visible fibrous striations.

What you receive: One round carved display plate; displayed objects are not included.
Material: Satin spar gypsum, often sold as selenite.
Variation: Color, translucency, sheen, carving, edges, and surface texture vary.
Use: Dry decorative display. “Charging” refers to symbolic crystal practice, rather than a measurable process.

Care

Keep dry and dust gently with a soft cloth. Gypsum is soft and moisture-sensitive. Avoid heavy objects, scratches, humidity, liquids, heat, flames, and impacts. Store flat with padding.
